Abstract : The patent describes a method and apparatus for optical heterodyning with photosensitive surfaces in which the amplitude of the output current is any desired function of the angle of incidence of the incident light beams. This is accomplished by shaping a photosensitive surface in accordance with the inverse Fourier transform of the desired amplitude of current response.
