Abstract : A theoretical and experimental investigation of the primary characteristics of trailing edge suction is reported. The theoretical study results in a mathematical method for the prediction of the performance of such a system under limited condition. The experimental study confirms the theory and extends the investigation to the determination of the effect of suction slot geometry on the lift, drag, pitching moment, and power requirement for such a system. In addition, an attempt has been made to relate to significant geometry of the airfoil-slot combination to the measured lift increase.
