Abstract : An expression was derived for the velocity distribution of turbulent flow behind a system of rods spaced at equal distances from each other. Prandtl's expression in terms of the mixing length was assumed for the statement of the shear stress of the turbulent flow. The resulting velocity distribution was given by a second-order nonlinear differential equation which was solved in terms of the elliptic functions of Weierstrass. These were expressed in terms of Jacobian elliptic functions. The results are in close agreement with those obtained by simple quadrature.
