Abstract : A description is presented of Gamma-ray emitters selected on the basis of half life, energy, and neutron-capture cross section. The following isotopes with their respective half lives and energies (mev) were selected: Co60, 5.3y, 1.1, and 1.3; Eu154, 5y, 0.12, 0.34, 0. 41, and 1.2; Ta182, 120 d, 0.15, 0.22, 1.13, and 1.22; Sb124r, 60 d, 0.12, 0.61, 0.65, 0.73, 1.7, and 2.0; Sc46, 85 d, 0.88 and 1.12;; Ir192, 70 d, 0.30, 0.47, and 0.60; S and e75, 127 d, 0.12, 0.14, 0.27, and 0.4; and Hf181, 46 d, 0.52, and 0.3. Attempts to obtain a low energy source were unsuccessful; Ce-Pr144 produced a 1.25-mev radiation which masked the desired 0.22 mev. The sources are prepared in cylinders having their diameters equal to their lengths which are 1, 2, 4, and 6 mm.
