Abstract : Vapor-droplet tests were conducted with the system Nsub2Hsub4 v apor- Hsub2Osub2 droplets, 95% materials being used. The time delay to reaction was greater than 450 msec., compared to an ignition delay of 295 msec. for 92% Hsub2Osub2. The difference in observed delay was attributed to trace catalysis. The probability of locating trace catalysts capable of producing extremely short time delays was considered excellent. The maximum leakage of the M-6D seal, upon quasi-static tests to 5000 p.s.i. with Hsub2O as the test fluid, was about 20 cc./sec. at 16 deg C. The piston velocity sof the static-dynamic testing machine was 74 ft./sec/ at its design limit.
